Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is the most common form of sleep apnea. It occurs when the muscles in the back of the throat relax, causing the airway to become blocked. When your brain senses your inability to breath, your body will briefly wake you up to reopen your airway. Most of the time, this awakening is so brief you will not remember it, however, being awoken multiple times in the night can inhibit your ability to get a good night's sleep.
